We would like to thank Olney Middle School for holding a MUFTI day and raising over £300 to enable us to send a large variety of text books for the schools in Newton. We hope to be able to send these in time for Christmas.

Offa's Dyke Sponsored Walk
On 9 th July 2007 Matthew and Jonathan Billingsley embarked on a seven day trek along Offa's Dyke. They raised loads of money for the Olney Newton Link

Our friends in Newton would appreciate any of the following:
A3 & A4 paper • Board pens • chalk • calculators • mobile phones• sports equipment - particularly footballs, netballs & volleyballs • typewriters • non-electric sewing machines • text books • musical instruments • Simple First Aid equipment (need not be in date) •
There is also a huge need for school furniture, £14 buys a seat and bench for 3 children
Here are some details of recent fundraising by people supporting the link
Despite the weather the Dickens Day stall raised£340. This includes a very welcome contribution from the Stony Stratford Mummers.
The First Year pupils at Olney Infant School performed their play ' The Whoopsie Daisy Angel' for their Mum s Dads and friends and raised £760 for the repair of the water well at the REC Primary School in Newton.
Susan Heron organised a 'Be a Star this Christmas' appeal and has raised £350 to buy furniture for the schools in Newton.
St Pauls Catholic School in Milton Keynes made the Link their Advent Charity this year. The sum raised hased the £2000 mark.
We would also like to acknowledge many other contributions and donations made recently. Since the beginning of December we have sent £2000 for the Skills Training Centre, £850 for school furniture and £760 for the repair of the water well.

ONL Barn Dance
On Friday January 25th Olney Rugby Club was the venue for our first, and we hope not the last, ONL Barn Dance. The dancing was lead by Kurley Kale and the Rotavators, Gill Hurley and friends provided chilli and crusty bread and approximately 90 people had a really good evening. A repeat performance next year please!

Palm Sunday Sponserd Walk
below are photos of the Sponsored Walk which took place on Palm Sunday. This was undertaken by the 'Young People' of Sutcliff Baptist Church who did a 10 mile walk from Olney, via Weston Underwood and finishing in Salcey Forest. The amount raised is yet to be known, but is believed to be substantial. Conditions were to say the least not ideal!

Old Time Music Hall
Many thanks go to Hanslope Entertainment Group for a very enjoyable evening at Olney Rugby Club on Friday May 2nd. The audience greatly enjoyed the various acts and joined in the songs with great gusto! £450 were raised for the Link.
