Skills Centre Progress October 2007
The photographs show the Skills Centre in Newton as seen by the group of visitors from Olney in October 2007. The building is being done in 3 phases. At the moment the walls of phase 1 are approx 2 meters high and made of concrete blocks. This part of the building contains 4 guest rooms, a store, an office, a kitchen and a toilet which will empty into a septic tank. The foundations for phase 2 have been dug and this phase will contain 3 tutor rooms. Phase 3, yet to be started will also contain 3 tutor rooms. Work is carried out as funds are provded from Olney. The building is done by a skilled contractor while the clearing and preparing is done by local unemployed youths who will eventually be the beneficiaries of the centre.
